HEAVY WAX are excited to produce the unexpected, whilst still making music that
sits in well with your favorite weekend, funk or soul playlists. With so many stylistic
influences and an open-minded approach, they leave the door ajar creatively to
avoid being boxed into a specific genre. With a brazen 3-piece horn section backed
by a gritty rhythm section, audiences are enraptured by their infectious grooves and
catchy melodies.
A group of 8 mates from the Gold Coast drawn together by a passion for playing
live music; their story starts years prior to the formation of HEAVY WAX, coming
from different musical backgrounds then brought together by party band Madison
Kat. They are well settled in each others’ company both on and off the stage
pushing each other to out do and entertain themselves as much as the crowds that
come to hear their eclectic tunes.
This energetic vibe has taken this eight piece band to venues across the nation
including mainstages at ‘Blues on Broadbeach’, ‘Caloundra Music Festival’, ‘The
Roots Festival’ at HOTA, ‘Melting Sunsets Festival’, ‘Crafted Beer & Cider Festival’,
‘NightQuarter Roots Festival’ and being fortunate to play alongside artists such as
John Butler, Ian Moss, Xavier Rudd, Alex Lloyd, Bobby Alu and The Whitlams.
Celebrating the recent release of their self-titled debut album they are looking to
continue to bring their musical stylings to audiences along the east coast and
beyond…
