FAQ... How Do I Clean my Vinyl Records?

FAQ... How Do I Clean my Vinyl Records?

Hearing crackle or more than usual? Finding a build up on your stylus/needle? We get asked a lot what the best way to clean and look after records is... here's a few steps.

To maintain optimal sound quality and preserve the life of your vinyl records, proper cleaning is essential. A great start would be investing in a carbon-fibre or anti-static brush to gently remove surface dust before each play.
For deeper cleaning, use a specialised record cleaning solution and a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe in the direction of the groove.
Always handle records by the edges to prevent fingerprint smudges and oils.
Store them vertically in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
Check your turntable stylus for dirt or build up and replace if necessary.
Making sure the tonearm is properly calibrated and balanced can help with that a lot.

These practices will safeguard your vinyl collection and ensure a consistent, high-quality audio experience. Look after 'em and you'll get the best out of 'em!
